Planning and development consultancy Turley has announced the appointment of Antony Pollard as head of economics following six years as a director at the firm

Antony will lead Turley’s national economics service which provides the evidence required to successfully promote the development and optimise the economic, social value and health benefits of a project.

Antony takes on the role of senior director Richard Laming who established the team in 2013. Richard will continue to lead large scale and complex projects and support the strategic growth of the service.

Speaking about the promotion, Richard Laming said: “Antony has been a key player in the growth and success of the team over the last six years. His knowledge of the UK’s various planning systems, ability to develop compelling evidence to support promotions and applications and work as an expert witness mark him out as a market leader.

“Beyond this, he has a deep understanding of the social, economic and regeneration challenges facing different areas of the UK. This is essential in terms of communicating the role that planning and development can play in helping to redress economic imbalances and meeting people’s needs for homes, jobs and life opportunities.”

Antony added: “I am greatly looking forward to leading the service into its next growth phase. I am fortunate to have a very talented team to support me and a breadth of clients which we are assisting in the delivery of exciting and challenging projects across the UK.”
