Stride Treglown is an employee-owned architectural practice of over 300 people. The practice was started in 1953 by two architects, Ray Stride and Gerry Treglown. Ray was a stickler for detail, buildability and process, while Gerry was a socially adept, creative powerhouse. Their personalities live on and define who they are today.
They are not driven by ego. Instead, they focus on the needs of their clients and the people that use their projects, creating inspiring, sustainable spaces that genuinely work.
“We think. We design. We deliver. We create spaces and places that people love to use.”
Sheppard Robson is one of the UK’s most established architectural practices, with a reputation for thoughtful and responsible designs.
In the practice’s 80-year history, Sheppard Robson has designed award-winning architecture, interior design and masterplanning projects around the world, building a strong reputation across numerous typologies – including office, education, residential, healthcare, science and retail projects.
From their offices in London, Manchester and Glasgow, the founding principles of innovation and sustainability continue to shape the work of the practice and its interior design group (ID:SR), reinterpreted and enlivened by the creative talent of their designers.
The work of the practice benefits from an ability to have a constructive dialogue with clients and end-users, as well as collaborating closely with other members of the project team throughout the design and delivery of a project.
They provide a complete local authority statutory building control approval service across Hertfordshire. Their aim is to work in collaboration with builders, architects and agents to ensure that every building project achieves approval with the minimum of disruption.
Their clients benefit from their solution-led approach and their team of professionally qualified surveyors offer proactive advice and support to help achieve the best possible results.
When things go wrong – e.g. buildings becoming dangerous as a result of poor building practices that have not been properly inspected – they are the people who are called in to ensure that the area is made safe and further losses minimised.
Hertfordshire Building Control is owned by and carry out Building Control services on behalf of seven local authorities in Hertfordshire. In effect as a resident in Hertfordshire you own Hertfordshire Building Control.
