3 World Trade Centre rises to place in New York skyline

To mark the 17th anniversary of the 11 September attacks, Earthcam has released a time-lapse video of its construction of 3 World Trade Centre

3 World Trade Centre, designed by British RIBA Gold Medal and Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Rogers, officially opened on 11 June.

The 80-storey, 2.5m sq ft skyscraper is now New York City’s fifth-largest tower and is the second-to-last building to open as part of the redevelopment of the 16-acre World Trade Centre site.

The building features full-height glazing on all facades offering 360-degree views of Lower Manhattan, five retail levels and achieves LEED Gold standard for energy and environmental design.
