Kier Property has achieved planning consent for its new 13-unit industrial development in Luton

The site, located in west Luton on the Kingsway Industrial Estate, will see 10 Trade City units (ranging in size from 3,000 sq. ft – 6,800 sq. ft) and three Logistics City units (ranging in size from 20,000 sq. ft – 50,000 sq. ft).

Kier Property purchased the 6.1 acres site in partnership with Investec, in July 2019 from C M Downton (Haulage Contractors) with a view to expanding the industrial offering in the Luton area.

Phil Sutton, senior development director for Kier Property, commented: “We are delighted to get the go-ahead for our latest Trade and Logistics City development.

“We have recognised the need for more commercial units in the area and will commence development this year with PC scheduled for winter 2020.”

Kier Property has a pipeline of £1.5bn and has delivered more than five million sq ft of industrial developments across the UK. In addition to Luton, Kier Property has current Trade City schemes in Chelmsford, Maidenhead and Gravesend.

Earlier this year, in partnership with Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC), Kier Property reached practical completion on a new retail scheme known as Columbus Quarter on the Walworth Business Park in Andover.
