Northstowe, sustainable community

Keepmoat Homes has been confirmed as Homes England’s development partner for the Northstowe new town development in Cambridgeshire

Keepmoat Homes will contribute around 300 homes to the sustainable community.

The new homes, which include one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses, will be designed to the Nationally Described Space Standard.

Keepmoat’s plans include community spaces, play areas, quiet gardens and a new café facility.

Keepmoat will offer a variety of purchase options on the site including open market and shared equity starter homes as well as hones for affordable rent.

The first homes will be available in the spring of 2022.

Using modern construction methods

Michael O’Farrell, regional managing director at Keepmoat Homes, said: “We’re delighted to be announced as a partner in this exciting project.

“At Keepmoat, we’re committed to providing new homes that support a range of buyers, and we hope the variety that will be available at Northstowe will help a lot of people achieve their dream of owning – or renting – a new home.

“Our plans are to deliver these new homes using modern construction methods and, working alongside our supply chain, we will bring them to market at pace using methods that are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.”

Mike Goulding, project director at Homes England, added: “We are pleased to be working with Keepmoat to build the next sustainable neighbourhood at Northstowe.

“We will collaborate to deliver a high-quality environment with homes at a range of prices, including affordable housing.”

Work is due to start on the reserved matters planning application later this year with a start on site planned for autumn 2021.
