GRAHAM has completed the construction of the £44m Wycliffe Retirement Village in Horsley Green near High Wycombe

The retirement village will feature 156 accessible living apartments across five residential blocks on a 25-acre site.

The village features a central clubhouse with communal amenities such as reception services, a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a swimming pool and treatment rooms. The landscape will also feature a kitchen garden, a bowling green, and safe walking trails.

GRAHAM adds to its portfolio of retirement villages

The village will be operated by Audley, who manage retirement spaces. Wycliffe Retirement Village is one of many retirement projects GRAHAM oversees for Audley, amounting to over £100m of work. These include Cobham Retirement Village, completed this year, and the upcoming Scarcroft Park, scheduled for 2024.

“We have enjoyed a longstanding collaboration with Audley, spanning several years, on various retirement villages located in Wycliffe Park, Scarcroft, and Cobham,” said Guy Salazar-Lewis, projects director at GRAHAM.

“These establishments boast an exceptional array of amenities, reflecting our commitment to creating a thriving community for older people”, he added.

Amenities will be open to the local community

The Cobham Retirement Village features 74 two-bedroom properties, a swimming pool, a health club, a restaurant, and a bar bistro, open to both Audley property owners and local residents.

Audley Scarcroft Park is being built on a 110-acre site in West Yorkshire and will include 22 cottages and 106 two-bedroom apartments. 18 new buildings will be built in the ‘Golden Triangle’ area between Ilkley, Harrogate, and York.

GRAHAM will also oversee the restoration of the Grade II listed Scarcroft Lodge

Once finished, Scarcroft Lodge, built in 1830, will host the Audley Club, providing property owners and the local community with a restaurant, health spa with a hydrotherapy pool, gym, and wellness studio.

The village will also offer care services to property owners and the locals in conjunction with Audley Care.

The projects are funded via a joint venture with the real estate division of Schroders and Octopus Real Estate, which specialises in healthcare real estate.

“Wycliffe Park is a beautiful village we are incredibly proud to have recently opened. The quality of the 156 new properties is a testament to the work of GRAHAM Construction, who delivered this village for us,” commented Alan Renshall, development project manager at Audley.

“Demand for integrated retirement living options is as strong as ever, so we must continue to build and operate villages designed so people can live better, for longer, by holistically focusing on health and wellness. That’s exactly what we have at our 19 villages across the country,” he concluded.
