As the growth of local construction business Mick George Ltd continues, the group has welcomed a new Senior Manager to the helm of its Human Resources department

Anthony Smith arrives with 12 years’ experience in Human Resources, offering tremendous knowledge and expertise. Having worked in several major industries, including significant construction experience from his recent roles at Keepmoat and Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions, Smith is sure to be a valuable asset to the Company in the future.

Currently in training to complete an ‘Iron Distance Triathlon’, Smith has the credentials to keep pace with the momentum that Mick George Ltd has built-in becoming one of the construction industries leading suppliers.

As well as harnessing the very best from the talented workforce that already resides within Mick George Ltd, one of Smith’s initial tasks is a new recruitment drive that the firm is embarking on to withstand the demand for its supply services.

Employing more than 1,100 local people, Mick George Ltd is specifically interested in hearing from those looking to build a career in workshop maintenance, driving or plant operation positions. In return, the company is offering very attractive financial packages, alongside other great benefits which Smith has already started introducing.

However, if getting your ‘hands dirty’ isn’t your thing and an office environment is more appealing, then worry not, as the business also has a wide variety of customer service, finance, and sales roles available from its Huntingdon Head Office location.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd said: “We recognise that our success is dependent on the fantastic team we have built across all departments, and critical to those appointments is the person who heads up our Human Resources. The company’s recruitment strategy is core to our current and future aspirations; therefore we are continuously assessing and investing to improve where possible.”

Stump added:  “A lot of consideration has gone into the new benefits package that were looking to roll out in the near future, which we’re sure will be a major incentive for all current and future employees as it is a lot more individually tailored.”
